Carmelo Anthony's career has always been riddled with disappointments. Being a high-caliber superstar, many fans always assumed Melo was destined for greatness. During his early years on the Nuggets he was Lebron James’s main competitor. As Lebron grew Carmelo seemed to remain stagnant, and then steadily decline. Carmelo has teamed up with multiple players in hopes of reaching a ring including Chauncey Billups, Allen Iverson and Derrick Rose. None of these dynamic combos have seemed to pan out for the Baltimore native and the jokes of him being a cancer have come closer to reality.
As a three time Olympic gold medalist, NBA All-Star and a NBA scoring champion he is missing everything but a ring. So now we wonder will he ever chase one. In today's NBA you wonder who won't be a Hall of Fame player and Anthony for sure will be one but will he be happy with how his career ends. As the trade deadline approaches Melo fans have to be hoping he takes a deal to the Clippers for one last push at a ring because no one can bear witnessing his career end poorly on this cursed Knicks team.
The power is in his own hands. He can either take the trade and uproot his family from New York (where they have truly settled in) or be persistent and halt Phil Jackson’s efforts to start over and rebuild. Being a fan of the star forward is certainly not easy, because of his capabilities. To shut up the critics and win friendly arguments about Carmelo’s legacy, fans must be praying he makes the decision to move from New York.
